Policies and Procedures
THREE BASIC CLASSROOM RULES
- Be respectful of everyone and everything in this classroom at all times.
- Be prepared! Come to class with all required materials and assignments every day.
- Be ready to follow directions the first time they are given.
MATERIALS TO BUY - If there is ever a problem getting anything on this list, please ask me. We can always work it out.
ABSENCES AND MAKE-UP WORK:
When you are absent you should refer to the agenda on the board, check my website, collect any class handouts missed, and make immediate arrangements with me to make up your work. YOU must communicate with ME about make-up arrangements. Do not wait for me to come to you! Any tests/quizzes missed will be required to be made up on a teacher assigned day and time. This time will be anywhere between 8:30 and 9:15 A.M. and it will be the student's responsibility to be present at the time assigned.
Transportation difficulties will be taken into consideration when assigning make-up times, and all possible accommodations will be made, but please note that teacher days end at 4:00.
You will have one day for every day you are absent to complete all missing work. For example: If you are absent for two days, you have two days to complete all work.
Write the word “absent” at the top of the assignment. Put all absent work in the “late work/ absent” mailbox for your period. Do this before class starts.
HOMEWORK / CLASS WORK:
Homework will generally be assigned on a Monday-Thursday basis, with the exception of unit projects which will require weekend work. Turn assignments in before class starts. Class work will be daily! Expect to work everyday.
LATE HOMEWORK / CLASSWORK:
The homework and classwork I assign is intended to reinforce a lesson I have already taught. If you do not complete your assignments, you cannot reap the intended benefits, and your academic progress will suffer. Assignments are to be turned in on the date they are due. Late assignments will negatively affect your grade, and will decrease one letter grade for each day they are late. After one week, late assignments will not be accepted for ANY reason. A week is seven days. If an assignment is due Monday and you turn it in Friday, it is already an F.
Write the word “late” at the top of the assignment. Put all late work in the mailbox for your period. Do this before class starts.

- Pencils, Pencils, Pencils!
- Black or Blue Pens
- Earbuds
- Highlighters (optional but highly recommended for notes)
- Colored pencils (optional)
